DESCRIPTION:REGISTER ONLINE \nREGISTER VIA MAIL \nThe Loon Lake Walk/Run will be on July 1st at 8:00am.  Begin at the Loon Lisle Nature Reserve on S 600 W.  Run counter clockwise around the lake for 3.4 miles\, with a few hills and many scenic lake views.  The cost is $20.  Register by 6/30/23 to guarantee a t-shirt!  \nAfter a couple of Covid influenced years\, the Loon Lake run/walk will be back to a timed race in 2023!  It will be electronically bib timed and race results will be available online. T-shirts will be provided with pre-registration and awards for the top finishers will be presented. \nScott Davis\, with the support of previous Loon Lake Race Directors\, has agreed to take on the lead role in organizing this year’s race. DESCRIPTION:Kids Fishing Derby  \nDate June 3rd Saturday\nTime 8am to 8:30am registration Return by 11am\nLocation – Loon Lisle Nature Reserve\nKids 2 to 16 Years old\nFree fishing Weekend \nKids should arrive at the Pavillion to register and receive a goody bag for returning to their favorite fishing hole.  Save all the fish that is caught for the prizes are awarded based on the total weight of the fish caught.  All fishing must be at Loon Lake! \nReturn to the Pavillion no later than 11am and get your catch weighed.  If you do not wish to keep your catch they will be placed in an aerator and returned to the lake. \nGrab a hot dog\, chips and a drink while waiting for the fish totals to be tallied.  Kids eat free and a free will offering is collected for the adults. \nTrophies will be handed out to the top three of each age group.  Every child gets a prize! \nTeaching the next generation to fish is the ultimate prize! Hope to see you all there!

Brown Rd. on Friday\, 7/29 from 6-8 PM and Saturday\, 7/30 from 8-10 AM.\n\n \nPOKER RUN DETAILS\n\nPoker Run 2022 promises to be a memorable one with more prizes and chances to win than ever! The top 15 hands will receive prizes this year\, including a custom cornhole set\, dinner/concert/overnight stay for two at the Blue Gate in Shipshewana\, Polywood Adirondack chair\, lake rake\, gift cards\, and much more! Poker hands are $5 each\, and you can purchase as many as you’d like.\n\nYou don’t have to be a card shark to play this type of poker. When you purchase your “hands”\, you will receive an envelope for each one. Seven dealers will be at piers or in boats around the lake where you will select one card from each of them. The dealer will write the card that you drew on your envelope\, and you will move on to the next dealer. Once you’ve visited all seven dealers\, you will turn in your completed envelope back at Ehingers’ pier where we will determine who has the best hands.\n\nPRIZE DRAWINGS\n\nIn addition\, we have a 20+ chance “baskets” with prizes ranging from a Michelob Ultra cooler to restaurant gift cards\, “beverages”\, and numerous other items. We anticipate this years show to be as exciting as ever! \nSince the fireworks will be shot off barges again this year\, we ask that boats keep a long\, safe distance from the barge which will be anchored off shore between the Loon Lisle Nature Reserve and Brower’s Point. Also\, after 4:00PM\, we ask all wake boats to stay as far away from the barges as possible for the safety of the workers and volunteers running fuses to the explosives for the fireworks show. \nThank you to all those who donate and volunteer to help make the Loon Lake fireworks show great\, year after year!

DESCRIPTION:The LLPOA Pancake Breakfast will be on Saturday\, July 2nd from 8:00AM-11:00AM. Boat in\, drive over\, or walk up at the north end of the lake- Gallivan’s- 2757 Buckles Rd. Adults are $5 and kids $3. All proceeds go to the fireworks fund! \nStart your day with a delicious pancake and sausage breakfast. There will be coffee\, water and orange juice too. Bring all your guest to enjoy and raise money for the lake! Make it an annual tradition!

DESCRIPTION:The 17th Annual Loon Lake 5.5K Run/Walk is scheduled for Saturday\, July 2nd. This years race will be a FUN RUN! Join us to kick off the Loon Lake Independence Day celebrations. Start at the Loon Lisle Nature Reserve and journey around beautiful Loon Lake! The race proceeds go to the Loon Lake Property Owners Association and help keep Loon Lake “A fun\, safe\, and scenic lake community”. \nRace day registration will begin at 7:00 am and the race starts at 8:00 am. DESCRIPTION:The 2022 Lighted Boat Parade 10th Anniversary Voyage will be on Friday\, July 1st at 9:45 dusk.Decorate your boat with lights to celebrate Independence Day!  Meet your neighbors in Sycamore Bay (Sycamore and Maple Lane). Float and enjoy while waiting for  the arrival of all the decorated boats.  When given the signal follow the lead boat and parade around the lake!Not ready to join the parade this year?  Cheer on the boats from shore as they circle the lake!It’s a fantastic sight to see from land or lake!  Either way we hope you enjoy this annual event!

SUMMARY:June Can Pick Up
DESCRIPTION:The second Saturday of each month this summer April- September has been designated for aluminum can pick-up for recycling. \nHave your cans bagged and securely tied by the curb by 9:00AM at the latest.  Crews will be around to collect them. \nBrian Clark has space behind his barn to store aluminum cans between scheduled pick-ups.  His barn is located at 7748 N Arnold Rd. There is no address number on the barn but it is an aqua green/blue barn.  Please securely tie your bags before placing them inside the chain linked fence behind the barn. \nThanks in advance for helping to support your local community and for helping to make our annual fireworks show a great tradition to share with friends and family.

DESCRIPTION:The Kids Fishing Derby will be Saturday\, June 4th which is a Free Fishing Day! Register kids aged 2-16 at the Boat Launch before 8:30AM. Fish from your boat\, pier\, or shoreline! Come back by 11:00 to have the fish weighed. We have different age groups\, from Minnows\, Guppies\, Blue Gills to Bass. Every kid gets a prize! \nCatch more than just fish! Catch the smiles\, they’re contagious! Get hooked on the fun with all the family!! More details to come!

SUMMARY:Spring Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Gather to hear news of what’s happening and share your ideas.  The meeting will be held at the Milestone/Newman/Treat garage at 7722 N Arnold Rd.  Doors open at 9:00 am\, meeting called to order at 9:30. \nOur 2021 Raffle will be held at the meeting!  Prizes include an iPad\, and gift cards to local businesses.  Raffle tickets will be mailed with your Spring Loon’s Call Newsletter in April but will also be available at the spring meeting. If you cannot attend the meeting please mail your raffle tickets in with your dues. \nWe are having a Canned Food Drive to collect non-perishable food items to donate to a local food pantry to help support our community. Any donations are greatly appreciated. \nPlease bring your own chairs.
